Bankruptcy

Use a translator when filing bankruptcy in Minneapolis, Minnesota

If English is not your native language or you have concerns about translation, you should not be prevented from filing bankruptcy. We often use translators at LifeBack Law Firm to best serve our customers. How does it work? You can mention your need for a translator when you call, chat or schedule an appointment online. LifeBack Law will provide a translator for your consultation or any other appointment. The bankruptcy trustee or court clerk can arrange for you to have a translator at your 341 hearing or any other court hearings that you may be required to attend. It is a very thorough and slick procedure. Do not let the fact that you need a bankruptcy consultation stop you from contacting us. The appointment for a free consultation usually takes between 30 minutes and an hour. You can meet in person, via Zoom, Skype, or FaceTime. We will discuss your assets, income, and debts, as well as give you advice on your financial situation. After the consultation you will be given documents to sign in order to move forward. The next step involves a virtual or in person two-hour review-and-sign process where we go over the entire bankruptcy case. After filing, you’ll attend a 341 Hearing, which lasts between 5-15 minutes. Zoom is the company that holds this hearing. In a Chapter 7 case, you’ll then wait 90 days for your discharge. In a Chapter 13 case, you’ll continue to make payments on your plan until discharge, which can be three to five years following filing.
