Tennessee Bar Journal publishes Mason’s Article on Custody Rights for Unmarried Parents

Miles Mason, Sr.’s article, “You Are the Father! Untangling Custody Rights in Tennessee Between Unmarried Parents,” has been published by the Tennessee Bar Journal in its Nov/Dec 2023 issue.  Written from a practical perspective, the article shares important steps in the paternity and custody determination process.  This is Mason’s 9th article published by the Tennessee Bar Journal.  For a complete list of Mason’s articles and books, see his professional biography.

Excerpt from Mason’s article:

Although the legal concepts of child custody are usually straightforward, for unmarried parents, the execution is complicated because every parent presents unique concerns. The first step in embracing child custody and child support is to prove parentage. Only by proving paternity will the father obtain standing to sue for custody.
