Medler Ferro Woodhouse & Mills, an Intellectual Property boutique law firm, is actively seeking a Biotech or Molecular Biology Patent Attorney or Patent Agent to join their growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position in McLean, VA.
Duties Include:
The position will work with partners and senior associates of the firm, specifically with domestic and foreign patent preparation and prosecution, freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses, researching and drafting legal opinions for clients, and assisting with patent office litigation matters.
Qualifications Required:
All candidates preferably should have a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in biotechnology, cell or molecular biology, bioengineering, biochemistry or related field, and technical experience in biotechnology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry. Attorney candidates also should have a JD from a top-tier law firm, and be admitted to one or more state bars, and all candidates should be admitted to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Candidates should have 2 to 4 years of experience in a law firm or in-house drafting patent applications and assisting with drafting of opinions, as well as performing freedom-to-operate patent searches and literature searches.
