McKee Voorhees & Sease is seeking a licensed Patent Attorney/Agent to join the firm’s expanding Chemical and Biotechnology practice group. Preference for candidates with hybrid work arrangements based out of Des Moines, IA. Remote work arrangements will be considered for ideal candidates.
Successful candidates will work with senior associates/patent agents, partners, and directly with clients in all phases of patent prosecution, including patent preparation, prosecution, and international portfolio management. Self-motivated candidates with attention to detail and love of science will feel at home with the firm’s Chemical and Biotechnology practice group, providing an engaging, close-knit group of professionals providing clients with superior legal services. If you want to work with a collaborative group of professionals committed to professional development of all members, including new attorneys/agents, this position will be a great fit. This position provides a unique opportunity to work on U.S. and international patent prosecution strategies starting day one!
Qualifications Required:
- An undergraduate degree or an advanced degree in chemistry or chemical engineering with excellent academic credentials.
- Must be licensed to practice before the USPTO.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Candidates with at least 1-year experience prosecuting patents in the chemical arts are preferred.
- Significant experience with patent prosecution, including responding to U.S. office actions and preference for experience with specification drafting is preferred.
