The MBJ describes this honor:

The awards celebrates those in the legal profession, and they run the gamut: baby lawyers and those with decades of experience; scary smart public defenders and justice-above-all-else prosecutors; judges and magistrates; corporate counsel; mediators, educators, administrators … .

Eligibility for MBJ’s Best of Bar awards is limited to those in the legal profession within MBJ’s coverage area of West Tennessee, North Mississippi, and East Arkansas.

Nominations were submitted by the public this past spring and augmented by MBJ’s research. An MBJ editorial panel selected the honorees from those nominees.
