Family Fun

At Phelps LaClair we love spending time with our family in nature. We feel better when we are outdoors, enjoying the scenery. From hiking the gorgeous rocky landscapes or canoeing the rivers and lakes, to playing the golf courses or attending festivals and events, we never run out of fun things to do! Here are three May events we’re excited about. Watch a Movie at Empire Ranch

May 10, 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm in Sonoita

Planned a date night with your partner? Plan a movie under the stars. The Empire Ranch Foundation will be screening “

A Star is Born,”a classic movie featuring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. While there, look for familiar landscapes in the film, as part of the

film was shot at the Empire Ranch! Bring a picnic and lawn chairs or cushions to make it more comfortable. Snacks and drinks will be available at the event. Shop the Outdoor Market at Artisan Alley

May 16th from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm in Glendale

Artisan Alley in Glendale is a fun, vibrant

outdoor market held monthly at the Westgate Entertainment District. This market is perfect for art lovers, families, and people looking for handmade products. You can find sustainable items, jewelry, clothing and unique gifts. You could get a Tarot reading, dance to live music with friends, support local vendors and grab some drinks and appetizers. You can choose from a wide variety of food options, including nearby restaurants such as Salt Tacos y Tequila and Hot N Juicy Crawfish. Bonus: dogs are also welcome! This is the perfect way to spend your Friday evening. Take a Guided Walking tour at Dead Horse Ranch. Every Sunday at 8:00 am in May

Nestled alongside the Verde River, Dead Horse Ranch State Park provides an incredible outdoor experience. Ask your family to come along for a morning stroll and to learn more about the rich history of the park. The hikes are different each week and allow visitors to explore different areas of this park, including sparkling lakes, tree-lined streams, and beautiful forests. The trails are accessible to all fitness levels and can be enjoyed by families, nature lovers, and casual walkers. The hikes begin at 8:00am, and last anywhere from one to two hours. The hikes are free with the park entrance fee ($10 per vehicle for one person, $20 for vehicles with 2+ people, $5 for bikes).

A Sunday walk is a great way to get in touch with nature, enjoy some bird watching and take in the beauty of Verde Valley. Rent a cabin if you want to make it a weekend trip. You can enjoy activities like biking, hiking, and canoeing during your stay. Keep an eye out for birds! You can see bald eagles as well as herons, egrets and more. The ranch offers something for the whole family to enjoy. Protect Your Family With a Solid Estate Planning Plan
