Did You Know That You Do Not Need to Mail Form 1095 Cs If a Notice is Posted by March 3, 2025?
At last year’s end, a new law came into effect that allowed employers to only provide Form 1095 C if asked, as long as they complied with IRS guidance. The IRS has provided guidance that requires employers to post a clearly visible notice on their website in a place that is easily accessible by all participants. This notice must state that participants can request a copy of the statement. The notice must include an email address, a physical address to which a request for a statement may be sent, and a telephone number that the participant may use to contact with any questions.
The notice must be posted by March 3rd this year and must remain up until October 15th. The participant must receive the form within 30 days after requesting it.
