A Ragdoll Pal
When Howard Kim’s parents moved to America in 1990, they never imagined that they would own a pet. His mother was determined to not have any pets, as she hated the idea of maintaining them. Howard’s father, along with his little sister, decided to drive to Alabama a few years back to get a kitten without their mother’s consent. This is not just any cat. Terry is a purebred Siamese. Howard explains, “She brought Terry home one day, and my mom and I just looked at him and…we had one.” He wanted a white cat with blue eyes. Howard began researching ragdolls, also known as the cats’ dogs. Their name comes from the way that, when picked up, they go limp like a ragdoll.
Howard and his father settled on a beige ragdoll cat with aquatic eyes and named him Choco. They picked him up at Whiskey Willow Ragdolls. Howard’s mother also fell in love, just like Terry, with Choco. Even if he sometimes bites her hair when she sleeps. Choco is very affectionate, but also lonely. He loves to be picked up and cuddled up at night. Choco is also very talkative. Right now, he is approaching his first birthday.
Happy early birthday to Choco!
