  • I wished the views on this YouTube channel were much higher. Christie is thorough and concise. It’s one of the best YouTube channels for student loans. The processing of IDRs has been slowed down considerably. While you wait, your student loans are put into forbearance. The system is in a mess, and this is unprecedented. Many things are unknown and will depend on the U.S. Supreme Court as well as the presidential election. If you are unable to work full-time due to an injury, illness, or advanced age, you may qualify for a Total Permanent Discharge (TPD). Please contact us if you are eligible. We have streamlined this process and if eligible, you’d likely receive a discharge of federal students before the election.

Second, if you have FFEL loans, you may need to consider consolidating to Direct loans if filing a bankruptcy or to maximize your student loan forgiveness before September when the IDR audit is expected to occur. You should be cautious, because while consolidations can still be processed, you do not want to risk losing your prior IDR payments.
