Venable LLP’s Trademark Prosecution and Counseling Group seeks an attorney with five to six years of prosecution-specific experience to join its top-ranked practice. Venable’s World Trademark Review-recognized practice manages large portfolios of trademarks and matters for clients of all sizes – from start-ups and celebrities to nonprofits and multinational corporations. Our diverse group of practitioners are industry innovators, regularly recognized for their prosecution, strategy, enforcement, and litigation expertise. The practice seeks a motivated and intellectually curious attorney with strong communications skills to join the group. With our strong cross-office IP presence, this full-time, permanent opportunity is open in our DC, Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, or Tysons Corner office. Fully remote opportunities are not available at this time.
Qualifications Required:
- Experience working with high volume portfolios clearing, registering, licensing, enforcing, and defending all types of trademarks worldwide.
- Strong skills in both domestic and foreign prosecution and search as well as experience working with foreign clients are a must.
- Large law firm or IP boutique experience required.
- Former USPTO Examiner experience or in-house experience is a plus.
- Must hold a juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be admitted to and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction’s bar.

The salary range for trademark prosecution attorney positions is $190,000 to $225,000, depending upon years of experience.
