Plaintiffs employment law firm Outten & Golden has recognized a union representing its 24 associates.

The new union is not a member of an existing U.S. union, Reuters reports in a story noted by Above the Law.

Managing partner Adam Klein told Reuters that the firm is “very much supportive of the union movement,” and “we’re aligned with their interests.”

Klein said he only recently learned about the existence of the union. The next step will be to negotiate a collective bargaining agreement. He didn’t know how long negotiations would take and what possible sticking points could be.

“Candidly, this is all new to me, as well,” Klein told Reuters.
